Chikungunya in Mauritius

On 2 April 2026, the Ministry of Health and Wellbeing reported a significant increase in chikungunya cases. At the time, 105 active cases were reported, particularly in the regions of Rose-Hill, Quatre-Bornes, and Roches Brunes. On May 14, 2026 the US CDC issued a Travel Alert regarding an increased risk of chikungunya to travellers visiting Mauritius.
